Cheng Hui Hsin's Innovative Fusion: The Koreapalace

Revolutionizing Traditional Korean BBQ Shops with Modern Design

Cheng Hui Hsin, an award-winning designer, has redefined the concept of Korean BBQ shops by merging traditional elements with modern design. This innovative fusion, known as Koreapalace, is a testament to the growing global popularity of South Korean culture.

Cheng Hui Hsin's Koreapalace is a unique blend of a modern fashion bar and a traditional Korean BBQ shop. The design is inspired by the recent surge in popularity of South Korean culture worldwide, particularly Korean dramas, which have made barbecue shops a new trend in restaurant marketing. The designer has innovatively retained the traditional design elements while infusing them with the youthful modern style of K-Pop.

The uniqueness of Koreapalace lies in its contrasting design elements. The use of Loft style as the base, combined with the contrast of light and dark tone wood colors, gives the space a simple yet stylish look. The design is not just about aesthetics but also functionality. The range hood on the fourth floor, imported from Korea, serves as a stylish decoration while effectively dealing with cooking oil fume. The side suction hood on the fifth floor saves space while maintaining functionality.

The Koreapalace project, which started in April 2016 and was completed in August 2016 in Taoyuan, was a challenge due to the time constraint and the need to stand out among various restaurants in the vicinity. Despite the challenges, Cheng Hui Hsin and the design team managed to create a unique and extraordinary space that is not only visually appealing but also functional.

The Koreapalace design has been recognized for its outstanding expertise and innovation. It was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2018. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
